In these busy days of multiplayer gaming it’s always good to have a few single players on your radar, and today a new FPS has been announced by VG Entertainment, led by former Stalker: Call of Pripyat dog Ruslan Didenko.
Forest Reigns is an ’emergent’ FPS set in a post-apocalyptic Paris not ravaged by war or electricity but plants. The City of Light has recovered from the situation: vines choke the lamp post, greenery grows on the sides of the buildings, grass covers the asphalt, and huge trees, twisted trees wind themselves around La Tour Eiffel. Mother Nature is back and she looks pissed off.
You are there too, with some technological tools and a few ideas to turn these strange plants into your friends. In this gameplay trailer secured by IGN, we see several short firefights against enemy workers where the player uses all the invasive greenery to their advantage.

Popping a round into a large base makes it interesting, giving the player cover to crouch behind while shooting. Glowing orange orbs also sprout from the body that, when shot, will explode, burning your enemies. Killing another type of plant makes him feel sick by blasting out spores, which seems to be the only way to cause serious pain to some heavy pigs patrolling the streets of Paris. We also see exploding fruit chucked like grenades, tangling vines ensnaring enemy soldiers, and other weird plant-based hijinx.
“It is not part of the environment – it is a conscious entity with its own will and thoughts. Interact with it to reveal its mysteries, use it to defeat enemies , or face his wrath when he makes you choose,” said Room. “Resources are scarce, and danger is constant. Craft, dig, and plan ahead. Adapt to this green new world or become the next victim.”
It looks very bad, like Atomic Heart meets Stalker, and the city’s beautiful scene is imagined, from the Eiffel Tower to the Arc de Triomphe to many places in France I have to know about name of No word on a release date for Forest Reigns, but here it is official website.
