Arcane fans have a five-minute animated treat to enjoy today, in the form of a new cinematic story released by League of Legends maker Riot Games.
The film is mainly designed to show Noxus, the setting for the League of Legends new season that starts tomorrow, and the home of the main character Mel Medarda.
But the video simultaneously also continues Mel’s story from Arcane himself, and seems to set up what we will see next in Arcane’s next sequel Noxus. And if you need an extra reason to watch, the movie was created in collaboration with Fortiche, the talented French art house behind Arcane. This is:
First of all, we can tell that this is really true after Arcane’s second season because of Mel’s new tattoos he got during his story.
Here, we also take a good look at LeBlanc, the leader of the Black Rose team, who appeared in Arcane’s second season but remained anonymous. He is seen here talking to Vladimir, another League of Legends champion, about some sinister sounding plans for the Noxian Empire.
After the conclusion of Arcane, showrunner Christian Linke confirmed the series will follow three more shows that have other locations in the League of Legends world. The first, set in Noxus, began production a year ago – and today’s cinematic is almost as good as the first trailer for that. Other films will be made in the region of Demacia and Ionia.
“We’re expanding a lot, we’re looking at every region and now we can build a slate to tell more stories – and extend some of them,” Linke said previously. come
If you haven’t seen Arcane yet, it’s still one of the best video game adaptations of all time and requires no prior knowledge of League of Legends itself. His first season was flawless, while his second was marred a little by pacing problems because he was cramming many story threads in.
