Minecraft started the year 2025 out with a bang by adding fallen leaves, new flowers, and the importance of growth, the difference between different pigs. Now, instead of just having an old red pig in your farm, you can keep a cold pig and a warm pig in the pen with him.
There have been pigs in Minecraft for the past 15 years, but until now, they were all just cut from the same cloth. New warm pigs can be found in hot biomes like deserts or bad places, while cold pigs are covered in soft fur to keep them warm in the lower temperatures found in the snow biome.
If, like me, you can’t wait to get your hands on these little guys, then you can try this and other new releases by making snapshots for Java Edition or turning on preview/beta in Bedrock Edition.
If you checked this update early, then you can report the bug you encountered: “The Pig Positivity Score (which I’m sure the pigs themselves created) has shot through the roof home since this came into testing,” the official Minecraft blog post said. “But when you walk out to meet our new pigs, please show the oink-always attitude to your nearest pig representative at bug.mojang.com.”
I’m so glad we finally got a lot of changes for the pigs. Last year, Mojang introduced nine new dog types to vanilla Minecraft, which was a big move for collectors like myself. But since then, I have been patiently receiving many different types of pain. There are a few options for animals, such as cattle, which also have Mooshroom and Moobloom sadly, but otherwise, animals in Minecraft can be a little boring at times.
There is nothing wrong with this, but as someone who likes to build for the biome that I live in, I have used mods to give me different animals for all climates.
My favorite MOD right now is the More Mob Variants package, which adds many types of cattle, pigs, chickens, sheep, dogs, etc. With this, I can have a French bulldog or a husky instead of the old wolf, collect tons of wooly, cookie, or umbra cattle for my farm, or even keep amber, golden crested , and stormy chickens as pets.
There are other mods available that do a similar thing, but this particular one, created by nyuppo is by far the best and currently has over 10 million downloads. The modder also released additional support for the More Pain Variants package called, the More Mob Variants x Fresh Animationswhich makes animals a lot like loafing cats or pigs rolling around in the dirt and getting all muddy-a miracle if you ask me.
The two new pig changes may not give players as many options as mods like this do, but it’s still a nice change, which I’m sure will be appreciated from people who just want to stick to vanilla Minecraft.
This update also includes more than hot and cold pigs. There are also new features in the forest biomes, such as flowers, fallen leaves, and leaf litter on the ground, making noise as you walk.
“On your next trip into the woods, dark forests, and tropical forests, listen for the crunch of the leaves below,” the blog post says. “Leaf litter makes noise when you walk through it and can be used to fix other blocks. In meadows, birch forests, and birch forests, you will see wild flowers, yellow flowers and white can be made into colors. and there are four stages of rapid growth with bones placed at different angles so that your flowers bloom in different patterns!
Ambient features like this is one of the silent heroes in Minecraft. It’s what makes this game so peaceful and comfortable (provided you don’t play hardcore), and it’s always one of my favorite elements of the game. So crunchy leaves are a big win in my book.
Finally, the loadstone map changes, making it easy to create a beacon that will guide you back to your base, so you won’t have to get lost or search again. The new recipe only calls for one iron ingot and eight chiseled bricks.
Last September, during Minecraft Live, Mojang announced that it will be getting a different update from there. Instead of releasing new features as part of a major update that will be announced during Minecraft Live, the decision has been made to cancel and release updates every year.
At first I was very sad to hear this news because I have always seen Minecraft Live as the highlight of my gaming years, and I fondly remember the excitement and anticipation. Can’t wait to see what the new theme will be – Caves and Cliffs are still mine. all the time love updates. But since this news, we’ve got a whole new biome, Pale Garden, and a new mob, The Creaking, as well as this new update with ambient pigs. So I really started to like the small and most ways, if only because we got a little fun to explore more often.
